An American 19th century double handled basket in original paint.  Retains richly colored paint of both Blue and Gray with gray interior.  Paint is in super condition with a minimally worn surface.
Believed to be constructed entirely of ash wood with an 18 spoke base and double coiled rim. Two tapered hand carved handles are interwoven at its rim.  Generous size measuring Diameter 23 × Height 11.5 inches. The top of bentwood handles measure 14 inches in height.  
There are 2 small areas in the bottom showing very minimal loss, otherwise, as made. True quality craftsmanship echoing 19th century New England basket making.
