We are pleased to offer this excellent 6 gallon cobalt decorated Stoneware Jar by Hamilton & Jones of Greensboro, Pennsylvania, dating to circa 1875. The impressive jar features a tooled shoulder, semi rounded rim and applied lug handles, with beautifully stenciled cobalt decoration. There is a Hamilton & Jones maker’s mark, foliate with geometric motifs, and a stenciled “6” near the base. The rich cobalt decoration has a wonderful aged surface and remains remarkably well preserved.
 
The jar stands 17.5 inches tall with a 10 inch diameter. It is in excellent condition with only one small flake to an ear handle. There are no cracks, hairlines or restoration.
 
This large format Hamilton & Jones jar is highly desirable for any Pennsylvania stoneware collector.
