We are pleased to offer this Western Pennsylvania stoneware canning jar, circa 1880. It features a gently tapering body, rounded wax sealer rim, and distinctive cobalt decoration. The body is brush decorated with 8 leaves of graduated comma vining across the midsection, and a brushed cobalt stripe below the rim. The simple inverted swag decoration gives this jar wonderful character.
 
The jar measures 8 1/4" in height and 4 3/8" in diameter. It is in very nice condition, with minor surface wear, and 2 tiny nibbles to the interior rim.
