We are pleased to offer a wonderful Evans Pottery Vase from Dexter, Missouri, dating to 1927, with a distinctive rustic tree bark texture and unusual applied twig handles. The vase's rich Albany brown glaze, and naturalistic handles add to its wonderful rustic character.
 
The unglazed base is penciled “Monday / April 12th / —1927— / Dexter Mo.” The handwritten inscription is an interesting feature of the piece, providing a specific date and place associated with the vase.
 
The vase measures 11 5/8" high, 7 1/2" wide from handle to handle, and 4 1/4" in diameter at the base. There is minimal glaze loss to the bark texture only with the glaze loss above the base edge occurring during manufacturing.
