Offered is an exceptional Cake Crock, circa 1875, with decoration indicative of the Baltimore Maryland origin. The Cake is salt-glazed with an impressed "2" capacity mark beneath the handle. It has a cylindrical form with squared rim, incised shoulder ring, and applied handles. Two brushed cobalt flowers decorations with feathered stem is repeated on each side. There are cobalt highlights to the handles and a brushed stripe below. This beauty is in excellent condition with only a tiny flake on each handle. There are 2 factory stone pings, one on the interior and the other on the exterior wall, and a kiln kiss, mentioned for accuracy only and shown in photos. It's hard to find a more perfect example to add to your collection.
