We are pleased to offer an original Yellow painted wooden Pickle Bucket with red painted iron bands, advertising Perkins & Epeneter Pickle Co. of Denver, Colorado. The front is decorated with bold black stenciled lettering reading “PERKINS SWEET MIXED” and “The PERKINS & EPENETER PICKLE CO. DENVER COLO.” The reverse is marked “1 GAL BEHYNER FRT & PRODUCE.” The bucket is complete with original wire handle and wooden grip.
 
The Perkins Epeneter Pickle Co. was an established Denver pickle manufacturer by 1908, when city directories listed J. C. Epeneter as president and E. H. Perkins as secretary, with the company located at 900 Lawrence. The company continued to be listed at that address in Denver from 1914 to1928.
 
The bucket retains its original painted surface with expected wear from age and use with no significant issues noted. We have not attempted to remove the original wooden plug at the top, which remains wedged in place. The bucket measures 13 1/2" diameter and 7 1/2" in height.
 
A wonderful example of early Denver food advertising with strong original graphics and an appealing, well worn appearance would delight any collector.
