Exceptional Ten Gallon Stoneware Jar with bold Cobalt stencil that reads; "HAMILTON & JONES / AGENTS / GREENSBORO / PA." This circa 1875 jar boasts a tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles.  It showcases a Hamilton & Jones "AGENTS" stencil with foliate border and sun with rays.  The jar is marked with a "10" above and below the cobalt décor.  This piece is in excellent condition with 1 small flake to the handle only.  There’s some normal glaze variations and one glaze drip to the interior Albany.  There are no cracks, hairlines, or restorations to this outstanding jar.
