We are pleased to offer this Moerlein-Gerst Brewing Co. Old Jug Lager stoneware bottle from Nashville, Tennessee, dating to the 1890's. The bottle features a wonderful pictorial design with the brewery’s scarce rooster emblem, floral and foliate decoration, and the wording “OLD JUG LAGER / Altes Krug Bier.” The reverse bears the Port Dundas Pottery Co., Glasgow mark.
 
The bottle measures 10½" high and has a small flake to the top of the mouth and another flake to the base. It remains in very good condition for its age. The large size, scarce rooster design and detailed decoration make this a great example of early Nashville brewing history.
