Presenting a hard-to-find Stovepipe Wax Sealer Canning Jar made in Southwestern Pennsylvania. This 1870's jar features the distinctive straight sided form with a grooved rim and striking cobalt decoration. A bold cobalt stripe accents both the rim and base, with nine graduated comma vines or swags, flowing between them. The dark cobalt decoration provides a wonderful contrast against the gray salt glazed surface.
 
The jar measures 6 3/4" in height and 4 1/4" in diameter and has one tiny little nip on the interior lip, otherwise in as-made condition.
