Offered for your consideration is a desirable Stoneware Cake Crock, circa 1880. This example hails from Western Pennsylvania and has a wide cylindrical form with a substantial rounded rim. The front is decorated with two free style brushed cobalt stripes, simple yet distinctive in their design.
 
The crock measures 5 1/4" high and 9" in diameter with albany interior. There are five small flakes along the inner rim, the largest measuring approximately 3/4" x 1/2". There's also a small chip to the outer rim on the reverse.
